Starting Pawsition | Puppy Training

The Puppy Months Are the Blueprint.

Starting Pawsition is a 3-session in-home puppy training program designed to help you and your new puppy start off on the right paw with clear communication, consistent routines, and a strong foundation for life.

The program includes 3 private in-home training sessions plus 2 check-in phone calls scheduled between sessions. Your puppy’s age and developmental stage help determine the timing of each lesson. Younger puppies may benefit from more time between sessions for homework, growth, and development, giving you continued trainer support throughout these important early stages.

Most Starting Pawsition programs span approximately 6 weeks, but training is never rushed. Your puppy, your household, and your end goals guide the pace of the program.

Five Foundational Cues

As your puppy develops, we begin introducing the five core cues:

Heel • Sit • Stay • Come • Down

These cues are taught alongside everyday structure so your puppy learns how to respond both at home and during real-life routines.

Training the Human, Too

Starting Pawsition is not just about teaching your puppy what to do.

A major part of the program is teaching you how to communicate clearly, reinforce good decisions, establish consistent routines, and guide your puppy through each developmental stage.

The goal is to help your puppy understand what is expected while building a relationship based on leadership, praise, consistency, and trust.

Customized Around Your Puppy

Every puppy develops differently.

Your program is customized around:

  • Your puppy’s age

  • Developmental stage

  • Current habits

  • Household routine

  • Training history

  • Your family’s goals

Younger puppies may need more time between lessons, while older puppies who have already developed unwanted habits may benefit from a slightly different training pace.

Who Starting Pawsition Is For

Starting Pawsition is ideal for:

  • New puppy owners

  • Puppies in their first several months at home

  • Families wanting to establish structure early

  • Puppies needing help with house training, crate training, jumping, nipping, barking, or door manners

  • Puppies who need an introduction to leash manners and basic obedience

  • Puppies who have already developed some habits because training was delayed

What Happens After Starting Pawsition?

By the end of the program, you should have the tools needed to continue guiding your puppy through the next developmental stages.

If additional structure, stronger obedience, or more advanced real-world training is needed later, we can determine the appropriate next rung based on your dog’s progress and your goals.
